Camedone, the village
Tucked away in the hills overlooking the Cinque Terre, 5 km as the crow flies from Vernazza, Camedone is a small, authentic stone hamlet, far from the crowds that flock to the five coastal villages in summer.
Here, time seems to have stood still: a narrow street winding beneath medieval vaults, houses some of which are over seven centuries old, most of them renovated but with a few still awaiting enthusiastic buyers, Camedone is known only for the sound of the chestnut forests that surround it and the murmur of the wind that cools it in summer.
It is in this setting that our three houses are situated, restored in keeping with the local architectural style: spectacular views, shaded terraces, exposed stone walls, chestnut beams and floors, rustic materials combined with thoroughly contemporary comforts — a fully fitted kitchen, Wi-Fi and, in each house, a private swimming pool.
From Camedone, several walking trails lead to the villages of the Cinque Terre or the higher ground of the regional park, whilst a car is still useful for exploring further afield towards La Spezia, Portovenere, Lerici or the neighbouring beaches. You’re just a stone’s throw from Tuscany, an hour from Pisa and less than two hours from Florence. Every nook and cranny of the coast harbours a treasure: Levanto, Buonasola, Tellaro, San Terenzo and many more.
